Some things...

So, I basically spent the lat two weeks practicing for a show at the Vat that, when all was said and done, we didn't really play very well. I also managed to catch a serious cold that had me miss work this weekend as well as school today. The Uncas were cool, though.

Calgary just lost probably the worst game that I have ever seen in my life tonight against St. Louis, a game that they should have won handedly. : / Thank god that it's over.

Also, memo to Wide Sargasso Sea. You are one of the worst novels that I have ever read. Thank you for being finished.

That is just about all for now. Luckily, my prosperity check has finally arrived. Hooray!

Well, in case you haven't been a fairly avid Flames fan for a long time, it's a little thing that they (and probably other teams) do. It's called playing to the level of your competition, and it's what allows teams like Calgary to beat Detroit, Ottawa, Vancouver, and so on, but lose to the Wild, Chicago, St. Louis, Florida, Atlanta. Basically, last night the Flames played only as well as they absolutely had to to be considered a hockey team. Yes, there was terrible ice, and the officiating was rotten, and the tying goal probably should have been disallowed, but the fact is that the Flames could have won that game in about the first 10 minutes but didn't.

In addition, I'm also having some concerns about, dare I say it, Kiprusoff. Granted, he hasn't been given an awful lot of help with the way that the defense has been playing since Christmas, but he should be and is capable of allowing fewer than 2 goals on 8 shots.
